In 1991 I started a BBS (Bulletin Board System). It was initially named CyberLink. A project I was working on with another local SysOp brought about a new name, which I adopted--Deafened Psychosis. The name is meant to describe people who find solace within themselves and are quiet, but other people see it as a mental problem. Shutting yourself away from others just because you want peace and quiet.
I built a theme around the name and a community formed. I became interested in electronic music early on, namely MOD's. I posted MOD's on my BBS for others to enjoy. In 1995, I shut down my BBS and created a website full of MOD's. I called it by the same name. I ran the website until the early 2000's, then shut it down as interest in MOD's waned. It's been many long years since I had a website for MOD's. Neocities seems like the perfect platform for such a retro concept.
